Short on time for browsing through countless skincare options? Think of this article as a quick crash course in Bulldog’s skincare range. From cleansers and face scrubs to moisturisers and serums, here’s all the information you need to get started:
1. Cleansers
A trusted face wash should be the first step in every morning and night-time skincare routine. Besides maintaining skin hygiene, it helps eliminate dirt, oil, sweat, and environmental pollutants that accumulate on the skin’s surface throughout the day.
Plus, if you plan on adding further products to your routine, it’s essential that your face is cleansed first in order to ensure maximum efficacy. At Bulldog, we develop cleansers for every skin type, so that you can choose the one that’s right for you:
Original Face Wash: Our best-selling face wash is formulated with aloe vera, an ingredient renowned for its moisturising and soothing properties. You can find a more detailed guide on the benefits of aloe in skincare here.
Energising Face Wash: Perfect for morning pick me up, it’s packed with natural origin maize, which revitalises the skin and leaves it feeling awakened and energised.
Oil Control Face Wash: If your skin is on the oilier side, then this one’s for you. It’s refreshing, designed to remove excess oil, and leaves your skin visibly shine free.
Sensitive Face Wash: Got sensitive skin? This fragrance-free face wash is specifically designed to gently cleanse the face, leaving it soft, moisturised and healthier looking.
Anytime Daily Cleansing Face Concentrate: Want to go from a skincare rookie to a skincare pro? Crafted with a more advanced formula, this one’s got an expert blend of natural origin acids and amino acids to both gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin.
Recovery Cleansing Face Gel: This cleanser is formulated with turmeric extract, which contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory components. It’s designed for night-time use to wash away the impurities of the day in a light-foaming form.
2. Face Scrubs
“Why use both a face wash and a scrub”, you ask? While they both work to remove impurities on the skin, they have two very different jobs.
A face wash gently cleanses the skin, while a scrub specialises in exfoliation. In other words, it’s formulated to remove dead skin cells before they get the chance to invade our pores. Plus, it prepares the skin to better absorb other products and leaves it feeling softer in the process.
Just like our cleanser range, Bulldog face scrubs are designed with different skin types in mind:
Original Face Scrub: Suitable for dry and normal skin types, made using 99% natural origin ingredients including sweet almond shell (for deep cleansing and exfoliation) and aloe vera.
Energising Face Scrub: Crafted with maize and coconut shell, it improves the signs of dull and tired skin, ideal to kickstart your morning.
Oil Control Face Scrub: Formulated with witch hazel (a flowering shrub traditionally used as an astringent in skincare), and sustainably sourced charcoal (for mild exfoliation), this one’s made specifically for oily skin to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells.
Sensitive Face Scrub: Designed with quinoa seed extract to gently exfoliate sensitive skin. Plus, it helps fight acne, ease redness, and calm inflammation brought on by breakouts. You can find a more detailed guide on the benefits of quinoa seed in skincare here.
Keep in mind that face scrubs should be used two times per week at most to avoid over-exfoliation and irritation. Quality over quantity is definitely the way to go with this one.
3. Serums
Serums are lightweight, highly concentrated products that contain active ingredients designed to target specific skincare concerns.
They’re often formulated with antioxidants, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, or plant extracts, and are usually applied after cleansing and before moisturising.
Whether or not you incorporate these into your routine depends on the results you wish to achieve and discovering which products feel best on your skin:
End of Day Recovery Serum: Packed with hyaluronic acid, Icelandic microalgae, and rambutan (naturally derived alternative to retinol), this serum is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also has skin firming properties and provides overnight hydration.
Age Defence Serum: The perfect addition to any morning or night-time skincare routine, especially for those with mature skin. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improve skin firmness. Plus, since it’s formulated with anti-ageing active marine algae, it’s rich in antioxidants. You can find a more detailed guide on the benefits of marine algae in skincare here.
4. Moisturisers & Creams
Moisturising is arguably the most important step in a skincare routine, no matter the time of year. Besides keeping the skin hydrated, moisturisers and creams provide skin barrier protection, soothing properties, and many are formulated with anti-ageing ingredients. Some even come with infused SPF, which is not to be overlooked, regardless of the weather outside.
Original Moisturiser: Suitable for combination and dry skin, this moisturiser with aloe is designed to deliver all day hydration without leaving the skin greasy or sticky.
Protective Moisturiser with SPF 15: Just like the original version, except that it comes with added SPF 15, making it perfect for any time of the year. Plus, it’s suitable for all skin types.
Anytime Daily Moisturiser with SPF 30: Light and non-greasy, this advanced range moisturiser is formulated with SPF 30. It protects and hydrates the skin using specially selected ingredients combined with highly effective UVA and UVB filters. It’s also got Vitamin C, which combats free radicals and reduces signs of hyperpigmentation. You can find a more detailed guide on the benefits of Vitamin C in skincare here.
Anytime Daily Moisturising Gel-Cream: The perfect pair to the SPF moisturiser from the same advanced range. Formulated with barley and tiger grass extract, as well as sugar beet betaine (a naturally derived alternative to hyaluronic acid), it instantly cools and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and awakened for the day ahead.
Sensitive Moisturiser: This one speaks for itself. If you experience skin irritation, redness, or sensitivity, this moisturiser is your skin’s best friend. It provides relief to sensitive and dry skin, protecting it with 24-hour hydration.
Oil Control Moisturiser: Clinically proven to reduce oil, improve skin texture, and balance the skin. It’s lightweight, meaning it doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, and perfectly complements the oil-control face wash and scrub.
Energising Moisturiser: Combine it with the face wash and scrub from the same collection for that zesty morning skin boost. Plus, if you enjoy a refreshing, citrus-based scent, we know you’ll love this one.
Age Defence Moisturiser and Eye Roll-On: For those with mature skin, combine these two with the serum from the same range for optimal anti-ageing results. They’re formulated to deliver all day moisturisation for brighter looking and less dull skin, as well as reduced puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
End of Day Recovery Cream: What makes this one stand out? It’s got upcycled grape-derived melatonin (to protect against cell damage from free radicals), tiger grass (antioxidant), and shea butter (renowned for nourishing, softening & smoothing the skin). Pair it with the cleansing gel and recovery serum from the same collection for optimal results.
5. Lip Balm, Hand Care & Body Care
Most of the mainstream skincare tends to be focused on the face, overlooking the importance of equally hydrating the rest of the body.
To ensure your skin is nourished and kept healthy all throughout, here are a few simple additions to complete your skincare routine:
Our original lip balm is geared towards those who enjoy a peppermint-based flavour.
Just like facial moisturisers keep the face hydrated, lotions do the same for the rest of the body. In winter, this is extra important, as cold temperatures and hot showers tend to leave the skin feeling drier than usual.
To complete your routine, don’t forget to apply hand cream throughout the day. And with packaging small enough to carry wherever your day takes you, there’s no excuse to skip this step.
Stay fresh, gents!
